The first Thursday of the month I participate in a conference call with some of the most authentic women on this planet. We call ourselves GUTS sisters based on a program we’ve all taken at some point in our lives called G.U.T.S. which stands for Giving Unbelievable ATtention to Self. This program was developed by Life Coach extraordinaire Reggie Adams from St. Cloud, Minnesota. I dedicate this poem to my fellow GUTS sisters and to all who have done the work to be their true authentic selves.
The Gift of GUTS
Deep below the surface I look
I know there’s something inside to see.
Wanting more from what I’ve got
I want so much to believe.
So deeper I delve into the abyss
I seek therefore I find.
I search for who I really am
I refuse to be so blind.
GUTs is what I give to me
The gift to trust oneself.
GUTs is what I give the world
Revealing the cards I’ve been dealt.
My light’s turned on, the veil is cast;
What you see is what you get.
No more games to play or fears to face
This is ME, the best, you bet.
GUTs is what I give to me
The gift to truly trust.
I’m open to accept the change
From darkness I am thrust.
Authentic self, my one true love
Let ME show up today.
Authentic self, beginner’s mind
I begin to know the way.
I have the GUTs to look inside
And see the worthiness.
I have the GUTs not to judge
For this I feel so blessed.
I have the GUTs for patience
To trust and not to strive.
Mindfulness shows me the way
With all this I have arrived.
GUTs is the gift I give myself
Trust, be Patient, Accept.
GUTs is the gift I give the world
You, too, can begin the quest.
